Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken, Ipoh

Experiencing CNY feasting & lazying withdrawal symptoms. So, this will be a picture-telling post.

This is a box (Ok, for those familiar with this, do proceed to salivate). This is a closer look at the box (A bit of suspense for those uninitiated who I trust are just a handful). This is the description on the box. This is the instructions on the box (Only if it underwent a long journey or short journey with snail-laden-with-5-wardrobes-full-of-winter coats pace for many horrendous hours on the highway). Anyhow, I prefer mine warm. What is inside the box? What is inside the wrappings? Tada! Err.. dun look appetising right? Good! Less men more share! Muahahahahaaha (pls excuse the strangled echo - blame d lip-smacking drumstick)

Price:- RM15 per box (1 salted chicken per box).

Address & contact number on the box:-

  3. chen, welcome! U r rite. I can't recall the price. Just remembered I was real happy with it as I expected the price to be much more since it is famous & bought it during the CNY season. Thx, will change the price now.

lyrical lemongrass, saw plenty of patrons zipping in & out carrying tens & tens of boxes. They must had made reservations. However, I bought 3 without calling. Lucky huh.

  6. Yaya... next time I snap the shop for you guys :P Lots of outstation customers came here for take away and yes, they do buy 10 boxes in 1 shot. Some of my KL friends say that it's a must take away item if you're in Ipoh besides Heong Peah

jason, it was raining & the roads very congested to d extend there was a traffic police at every junction! Parked the car some distance away so did not take pic of shop. Hey, dowan pic, want tapau!

    lyrical lemongrass, great pix!

meiyen, the pau is from Kampar, right? Whenever possible, I'll tapau fresh taugeh/beansprouts from Ipoh morning market! Crunch crunch crunch.

fatboybakes, 1 box chicken for 1 box tiramisu? Muahahahahaha.

  13. Okay, I'm done with the tissues...hand me the chicken! LOL!

  14. tummythoz: Ok... i'll try to figure that out *head scratching*
Btw, the curry chicken bun (i mean bread) is also available at Ipoh, from the same Kampar branch. So, no need to drive to Kampar to get it. If come to Bercham, must try crab with glass noodle (refer Precious Pea's Crab review) and claypot chicken rice.

  15. tummythoz,
Yummy, I'll definitely love this chicken! Actually it's quite easy to cook if there's the pre-mix seasoning and stuff. I have tried it before. :)

  16. Wow, RM15? That's cheaper than my favourite Ayamas' Golden Roaster! :-P But the petrol to drive to Ipoh and back would probably sets me back another RM30? Kekeke...

Oh that's one shop in Semenyih near Kajang that is as good (of not better) than the Ipoh's one. Try it!

Tankiasu ah, where is the shop in Semenyih that sells the salted chicken ah? Can't drive to Ipoh all the time. Somemore, I lost my way in Ipoh the last time lor.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, the chicken is delicious and so aromatic esp when you're traveling back from Ipoh.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ya lor...I remember when I went there in Dec, we tapau'd 6 boxes back to KL. Imagine how excruciating it is to smell the chicken during the entire journey and not eat it!

    ReplyDelete
  26. tummythoz,
I hope I can. Wait I get a fridge first at least. haha!:P

    ReplyDelete
  27. Love this place!! This is the pit stop for me and my friends before we leave/arrive Ipoh. Best thing is you can just stop at the side of the road and they will deliver it to your car! Efficient!

    ReplyDelete
  28. melting wok, actually in KL, there are makeshift stalls selling salted chicken by the roadsides. Old people will advise not to take it too often. Very 'heaty' so may induce nose bleed!

kampungboycitygal, maybe RM1 as delivery charge? Actually I can't remember the price. Can oni remember d taste. =P

precious pea, with your skills, surely your can do a similar if not better version, right? Drools.

    jason, TQ in advance!

tankiasu, I'll try again. Since u suggested shop in Semenyih, I suggested to see my comment to jason which said "got map for navigational challenged dummy-ar (ie. for me-lar)?" Hey, even lyrical lemongrass is interested!

lyrical lemongrass & boolicious, like durians in carboot? Haha, actually long never had that bun already. Drools.

    kok, ok-lor.

  29. paprika, during my last trip there, can't even get close to the junction!

  30. tummy u know horr, all the roast duck, pork, salted chickens all got "nitrate" seasonings, its a v/strong salt chemically challanged, very bad for health, and you don't wanna know how much nitrate they put in that yim kuk kai hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  31. Tummythoz, aiyooo..you look to high up on me oledi. If i can do better version, you will find Ar Pea Yim Kuk Kai shop in KL oledi!! Fatt datt luuu!!HAHAHAA!

  32. Hey Tummythoz, been meaning to put you on my blogroll. Hope you don't mind. Nice to meet someone so passionate about his food. These last few weeks have been a revelation.

  33. melting wok, yes, I'm aware & thx for d reminder. Sometimes, tummy desires tend to overrule. It's an on-going battle to keep d periods few & far apart. Exhaustive-lor.

precious pea, if that iadea takes off, gimme me special treat, k? Like buy 1 free 1! =P

allan yap & nigel a. skelchy, hey to you too (two?). What an eye candy(iest) blog you have!

  34. Rm15 for a chicken is quite reasonable but the look is not so appetizing, hehe...
