Toilet post#21

I have very low expectation of touristy spots in my beloved country. Maintenance was, is and high probability never be our forte. Yes, I’ve been ‘brainwashed’ since my early post diaper years by my elders. Remember Mimaland? Aka Moneyland? My elders christened it as such due to the high entry fees charged. That’s what I’ve been told and yes, they still reminisce about that place today in err.. disgust.

My dearest confused teenybopper readers, that theme park was way beyond your production days but let me tell you, it was THE theme park in my days of yore. Better than Zoo Negara. *sigh*

This is what it is today.

*sigh* Even Zoo Negara survived, though gangrenous and limping. (i_i)

Happy thots happy thots. Look look! A 3-years old public theme park that is proudly open and IS MOST (choking with emotion) impressive! There are well mannered uniformed AND knowledgable staff stationed at every attraction spot in the park to guide, brief and answer visitors' enquiries intelligently. 2 thumbs and 2 big toes up up and away! =D
A water feature with 110 degrees celcius water and steam. Almost scalded my lense. There is a warm water swimming pool and several hot, hotter, ouch-ouch hot dipping pools in both al-fresco or chalet (private party) style environment. As usual in a hot spring area, egg boiling facility is provided. BYO eggs else, just buy them from the park's canteen. Other foodwise, err satisfaction guaranteed with much lowered expectation.
Ahem. This is a toilet post so here is the clean, airy and every-tap-works (choke again) subject matter:- Entry fee: RM10 per adult to theme park. Free multiple toilet use included but as Malaysians are familiar, BYO paper/tissue.

I say worth it! One of my favourite foodie said no. I still say yes!

Go here for driving map. Otherwise, just turn off at the Sungkai exit from the North-South Expressway and follow the signboards. Ecpc.
Sungai Klah Hot Springs aka Taman Rekreasi Air Panas (TRAP), I’ll be back!

Top tip: Best during fasting month. Less crowd.

Sounds like a great place. It took me a while to figure out what is BYO. hahaha

There is this little known (now well known to everyone in Singapore) place in Singapore that has a natural spring and it is within the compound of an army camp. hehehe It's so popular that the government decided to make a way for the public to access the place without transpassing the camp area.

kok, you working?

life for beginners, your Devil Wears Prada, CK & co all well & healthy d?

the cooking ninja, 'bring your own'. This is actually in an agricultural estate.

Know how I learn of S'pore hot spring? Through Phua Chu Kang series. =)

j2kfm, your post sounded disappointed to me-ma. Err you mean no need to wipe dry? Air dry? No wonder sometimes it take ages to wait for a vacant cubicle.

looks quite nice wor...but aiyo, so far ah. what else is there to do there apart from shake legs in water and eat boiled eggs ah? i dont think it would be wise to dip body into water that can cook eggs right...especially if you have cookable eggs...

In our rush up and down the NSE we miss one of these gems.

little inbox, so best to go when rain or early morning since we don't experience autumn/winter.

backstreetgluttons, year end school holidays about to begin so there'll only be noisy packed parks.

fatboybakes, can always take a break here on the way to Ipoh. Aiyo different temperature pools for heating up different eggs-lar. The pond to BOIL eggs, no meat (eg sausages, 'tai-paus') allowed.

There's also a cold water pool. The kids will enjoy the octopus slide.

worldwindows, always a next time .. as long as the standard of upkeep holds.

Mimaland certainly brought back memories. However, I expected that it has long ceased operations. After all, how can it compete with sunway lagoon? As for toilets,.... less said the better .. when my son was 4, he was desperate during a shopping trip, but when he saw the grotty hole in the ground, he said he was no longer desperate, preferring to do it in his pants!!

definitely a healthier retreat than those skin-eating anak ikans hor? hehehe...and the water's hot! good for blood circulation!

hazza, poor boy. Poor parents. Poor other shoppers.

Happy to say that most pub toilets nowadays are at more civilised standard. Afterall, too many grotty holes are bad publicity for a country that can afford a space tourist.

nic(khkl), best when unlike other hotsprings, there's no yucky sulfur smells.

Oh remember not to just jump in or stay too long in the hot pool. According to the guides, the sudden surge in blood circulation will cause headache, nauseous or feel faint.

This is much better than Pedas in Seremban leh. The changing room was flooded with water when I was there... ergh.

Come to think of it, perhaps we went to the wrong hot spring. Cos we were at this hot spring that look more like a hot water pool with water theme park...

jason, was it a theme park by the main road? Quite packed on weekends.
