QQ Thai Seafood, Bukit Mertajam Penang
UPDATE: Early 2009. Restaurant cannot be found anymore. Boo-hoo-hoo.
Now back to the main feature.
Tomyum Soup. This was done with a special request by me. Only lalas (ie. clams) and no other seafood please. At first the rest were sceptical as we were used to either mixed seafood or just prawns/shrimps but the 'risk' was worth it! The clams were very fresh and juicy. Other seafood was not missed! *still continuing to give self back pats*.
Our bill and the contact number:-
Oh, there was no individual breakdown on the cost of dishes on the receipt though there were a few unintelligible scribble which a staff mentioned it's Thai in passing. Since they were still busy we did not bother enquiring further.
This would be one of the many posts (past & future) whereby I'll go "it's good, must try, highly recommended, best-best" but has no idea how to point the way there. But hey, one will never know right about who may be reading one's blog. Maybe I'll get lucky and you, yes you there, are able and willing to help give directions. Otherwise, do call the restaurant for directions. Not too difficult to find as it's location can be seen from the main road near the Sentosa/Kampung Baru area.

You're making me crave for tom yam now! Aiyoh!! I'll take note of this place if/when I'm in BM.
Tummythoz,
I don't know Tomyum soup can be cooked with clams until today when I saw your post. I normally have tomyum soup with other seafood.
Oh My Goodness!!! I just recovered from my post-Bangkok syndrome and now after looking at your post.....my sydrome getting more and more serious. Need a trip to Bangkok to cure me. I decided to follow you in May!
The price is quite reasonable leh. I want tomyam too :P~~~
I thought lou soon is asparagus? Penang, Penang....when will I see you again...:o)
The otak-otak looks good and so does the steamed fish. I've been eating quite a lot of steamed fish thai style as the combo of the chillies, lime juice and garlic is so delicious.
am planning to go to PG soon, will get my kawan kawan to pop over to this place :)

kok, that visit was towards the end of the CNY holiday week. Was a bit tired of prawns by then so thot this would be refreshing. It was definitely a good call. Plan to repeat the same request here in KL. Hopefully the restauranteur(s) won't look at me too funnily. ;>
jason, surely there are very good ones around your place too. If not, DIY-lor.
precious pea, and I follow u to Macau? =)
boo_licious, do recommend good ones over here. M salivating by just recalling the taste.
They served the otak otak in aluminum foil? I actually like the ones served inside coconut...very good.
Tummythoz: So far, haven't found any good tomyam here yet :(
Of course no problem, the more the merrier. Hubby and I already listed down what to eat in Macau.
