Dunkin' Donut, Restoran Jejantas Sg Buluh (Pitstop)

When travelling on relatively long trips outstation, we will usually time our journey to either do breakfast in Kuala Lumpur or start out real early to turn off at certain juncture of the highway and explore a bit of the smaller towns. Surprise food finds will make the most mundane car ride fun. However I am still very shy when it comes to photographing food at coffeeshops or stalls in wet markets. -_-" How/What do you say/explain it is for a blog in Chinese? Or do you claim something else? Pray tell!

This is a post of something I seldom take and have no cravings for as I find them too sweet. However when travelling on the North-South Highway (PLUS), Phitoy will drop by for a bite now and then. I just like the environment there. A good perch to enjoy one of my hobby - people watching. Why a food post then? Took pictures so post-lor. ;>

Guess most are familiar with this.Do note that this outlet opens not too early as the doughnuts only arrived after 9am. Phitoy was its first customer and this was his breakfast.Me? I just layered my tummy with a mug of Hot Chocolate. Hey, there are better tasting food (for me, that is) out there.

The bill:-

When I take photographs at stalls and small shops, my friends (who are more embarrassed than I am) tell people that I'm a foreigner. So I put on my best accent to authenticate their statement. Always works. :-P
Haven't been to Dunkin' Donut in a while because the stuff's too sweet. But I guess it makes for good comfort food.

lyrical lemongrass, haha. Actually did try that but even with d most fanatical accent, I'll just b branded as snobbish but a local nonetheless. =(

I got the 'shyness' problem too so sometimes i force hubby to take it for me.

Don't quite like Dunkin Donuts, too sweet for me. Maybe for dessert but definately not for breakfast. Am a savoury person when comes to main meals.

Tummythoz,
It's something like the "Donut King" here in Perth. With various kind of donuts, I still haven't tried it once. I think it's a bit too pricey. I would rather go for something else. ;)

Krispy Kremes are coming in. Looking forward to that. The franchisor owns another major chain here in KL.

hehe only donuts I like are what we call Chinese donuts. But they aren't donuts at all. They're actually deep fried choux pastry. Basically, substitute shortening/lard for the butter and since it's to be deep friend chuck in a touch of double action baking powder. Don't forget pinch of salt. Then plonk teaspoons full of dough into COLD oil and heat it up till they puff up and turn golden brown. Drain and dust with caster sugar or cinnamon sugar or vanilla sugar. EAT HOT!
