Revisited Rumah Makan Pondok Laguna, Jakarta Indonesia

Selba, this Malaysian friend of mine also brought us here. Guess you were right about it being an expat haunt. =D For those confused and curious, do click here to salivate at the food I savoured on my maiden visit and Selba's comment.

The revisit allowed me to savour my favourites again. They are the restaurant's bestsellers, obviously. Every table orders them.

I had a fabulous holiday!

Tahu Kipas (Fresh shrimps fried in batter)
Ikan Gurame aka Dancing Fish (Deep fried fresh water fish)
Cumi-cumi Bakar (Grilled Squid). Steadfastly my ultimate favourite!
Sambal kangkung (Spicy stirfried greens)
New dishes (to me) were:-

Kepiting (Crab) err cannot remember type of cooking. Local meat crab slathered in a spicy sweet sour sauce. Just cannot stop licking the shell.
Sambal Kacang Buncis (Spicy stirfried long beans). Forgettable.
All good to go with this pungent salivacious Sambal Belacan. Serving equivalent to a sauce plate.
Tried to diffused the fiery food with Fresh Young Coconut Water.Companions recommended to enhanced the drinks with a squeeze of lime. Somehow, I'm not taken with it. Tasted odd to me.
Bill: Sir V bought. Did I say I had a fabulous holiday?

Hahaha... see... who can resist from eating at this restaurant?

The tahu kipas is also my favorite dish! I think it's the best in town.. that's why it's quite pricey ;)

Hmm the taste of lime in coconut is suspect to me too! That crab though, is undoubtedly lickalicious!!

Selba, it's good but I'll swap that fried beancurd for the squid in a flash. =D

The Ikan Gurame is a work of art in itself, no? A crispy, fishy scuplture... ;)

I have a bit of a hang-up eating guarame in Indonesia as it sounds like an aquarium fish. But once I dig in lost all inhibitions. Wow so much variety!

teckiee, that's what it tasted like to me.

thenomadgourmand, certain parts of that long-winded drama series are just too boring and tedious.

Cumi & ciki, definitely raw, nor grilled please!

Life for Beginners, wonder how it's held while frying.

worldwindows, hmm call it African Fish then. Since in Cantonese, Fei-chau-yu.

Hmm, lime with coconut, never tried that combination before. I'm assuming it will taste pretty refreshing. Maybe I should try it on my own one day. Don't think we have it here in M'sia right? Prolly have to request for a side of limes. Haha

sue, haven't tried nor seen anyone doing it here either. Hmm think the vendor will give funny look.
